Ishikawa

From Akita Wiki

Ishikawa (石川県;-ken) is a prefecture in the Chubu region of Japan.

Kanezawa (金沢)

Kanezawa is the capital of Ishikawa prefecture and is an awesome city in its own right. It has a little bit of everything. From a bustling commercial center with plenty of shopping and restaurants, to the samurai and tea house districts. A good portion of the city is laced with canals and willow trees which give it a very unique feel. There are also places were you can buy ice cream that has ribbons of real gold in it... for those of you who know how to make it rain.

  • Kanezawa Castle
Kanezawa castle is a rebuilt castle. Only a few gates are original. Nice scenery in spring and I bet its pretty good in autumn too. However, just behind the castle lies...
  • Kenrokuen
This is one of the 3 most famous gardens in the country, and for good reason. It is enormous and houses many elaborate garden areas including a wonderful plum grove, tea house, a few shrines and temples, and the well from which the city of Kanezawa gets its name.

Chirihama (千里浜)

Chirihama is a beach area along the far west coast of Ishikawa its famous for both its beaches and, somehow, for UFO sightings. Popular for beach camping, has some decent onsens as well.
